it's work-in-progress and kinda experimental because i don't know how well it would actually scale but

inspired by @codl's, here is a PR to implement automatic post cleanup in

@Claire thanks for implementing this, I think it would be a useful feature. Hope it lands.

@Claire Do tell. Why on earth would I want to delete any of my posts? @codl

@Claire Any of what? Btw, your response is perhaps an example of why people delete their posts

@_Pelican3301 @Claire some people are more comfortable knowing that what they post is not permanent, that no-one can dig it up 3, 5, 10 years down the line to prove a point

@_Pelican3301 @codl not everyone needs a permanent record of everything they ever said semi-publicly
people change over time, their opinion changes, their way of communicating too, and so do their frequentations
maybe in 5 years you'll cringe at the idea of your now-recent posts being considered as anything representative of you or your opinions

@Claire I've been blogging and posting since geocities, delphi and compuserve existed and personal computers were literally plastic 'toys', and never found the need to do anything but correct things later found to be in error. But that's me. Others post drunk, stoned, and stupid. There's no cure for stupid. @codl
